Who is Tsolmondorj Natsagdorj a.k.a. mongolraider?
A Resume of Lies: The Story of Astrace's VP Product, his Fabricated Resume, and his Connections to Several Crypto Scams.
TL;DR: The VP Product at Astrace—Tsolmondorj Natsagdorj a.k.a. Tsoma a.k.a. mongolraider—has fabricated almost every work experience he has listed on his LinkedIn and was involved with several crypto scams—most notably SafeMoon—which was recently charged by the SEC for “perpetrating a massive fraudulent scheme”.
Make sure to subscribe to our Substack to be notified of upcoming research reports on Maren Altman’s crypto scam Astrace—a project that some have been calling “the crypto version of the Fyre Festival”.
Overview
We will explain Tsoma’s involvement with Astrace and his ties to major crypto scam SafeMoon. We will then meticulously examine each of his supposed work experiences on LinkedIn, showing numerous instances of fabrication as well as affiliations with entities that are, in essence, scams. And then some bonus material at the end.
Tsoma is an Executive at Astrace
First we begin by proving Tsolmondorj Natsagdorj (Tsoma) is in fact an executive at Astrace. This step is required because—since he’s fabricated much of his resume—one might be skeptical of him actually having worked at Astrace.
[1] Tsoma lists “VP Product at Astrace” on his LinkedIn.
[2] Tsoma goes by “mongolraider” throughout the internet.
[3] Prior to deleting his Twitter account, he had “VP Product at Astrace” in his bio.
[4] An insider has provided us with evidence that Tsoma is a member of Maren’s inner circle and regularly attended weekly meetings at Astrace.
Tsoma was involved in the Crypto Scam SafeMoon
Recently—on November 1, 2023—the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission charged SafeMoon and its executive team for fraud and unregistered offering of crypto securities. Tsoma was the “head quant” at SafeMoon. He has since removed any mention of SafeMoon from his public profiles and has since deleted his Twitter account.
Tsoma fabricated almost his entire work history
Here is an archived version of every work experience Tsoma has listed on his LinkedIn. Note that on a first unsuspecting glance, this resume—boasting 20 roles including numerous executive positions—might appear impressive … until one looks under the surface.
We will go one-by-one to show that each experience is entirely fabricated or exaggerated. Or is linked to a literal scam masquerading as a legitimate company. This section is long. Tsoma has fabricated almost his entire resume. Feel free to skip to the next section if this one gets boring …
Zero 1 Labs - CEO
All claims listed in work experience are fabricated.
There are only 5 results when searching “Zero 1 Labs” in Google. The main search result for “Zero 1 Labs” is this website for a tech venture capital company which immediately upon brief viewing has nothing to do with the “Zero 1 Labs” referred to in Tsoma’s LinkedIn page.
World of Ether was founded by Bryan Okeke not Tsoma.
There is minimal information about BetDice online.
In this podcast, Tsoma claims to have been the CEO of TokenPlay and YungBet; however, TokenPlay was founded by Steven Hoffman and their original website makes no mention of Tsoma or Zero 1 Labs: https://web.archive.org/web/20180111235456/https://tokenplay.com/
The website for YungBet is no longer online and there is only one archived capture: https://web.archive.org/web/20190212023953/http://yung.bet/
The search term “World of Polygon” doesn’t return anything referring to a dApp with such a name.
Montech Software Studio - Co-Founder/CEO
Olumide Akinwande, founder & (actual) CEO of Montech Studios, readily admitted in an interview that Tsoma is “only a founder on paper” and hasn’t done any work for them since.
OneOf - VP of Defi
Thomas Fiss is the VP of Strategic Partnerships at Superlogic (formerly OneOf). In an interview, he said their head of DeFi, Bryan Hollingshead, has been the same since the company's founding. Tsoma never worked for them.
Socialstack - Co-founder/CTO
Values Co. is the new name for SocialStack. In an interview with Justin Markell, Chief Strategy Officer, he said Tsoma only interned for them in the creative department (not in a technical role) and isn't a founder.
Harmony - Head of Defi
Tsoma was never listed as a member of the Harmony One team during the three months he claims to have worked there (March 2021 - June 2021).
YungBet - CEO
The website for YungBet is no longer online and there is only one archived capture, suggesting the website wasn’t live for very long. Searching “YungBet” on Google returns only 33 results, almost none of them having to do with a blockchain company called “YungBet”.
1WayFx Ltd. - Advisory Board Member
This one is a doozy. 1WayFx appears to be a completely made-up company selling a made-up product. They claim to have the “solution to absolute privacy”. To those with even a rudimentary understanding of cryptography, such a claim is incredibly laughable.
They claim to have created a completely unique encryption model invented by this guy:
He “published” an unreviewed paper of cryptographic gibberish here. He publishes under the name “Marius C. Ionescu” likely so the unsuspecting observer might think he’s this mathematician with the same name.
1WayFx Ltd. made a PR release about their product CryptoCliq here. Here is also a comical video advertising the product:
Something leads me to believe that digging into 1WayFx Ltd. might reveal an entire rabbit hole of dubious activities…
Sequence - Business Development US
No information about this company available online. Although, some internet archive captures reveal an interesting website…
TokenPlay - Co-Founder/CTO
TokenPlay was founded by Steven Hoffman and their original website makes no mention of Tsoma or Zero 1 Labs: https://web.archive.org/web/20180111235456/https://tokenplay.com/
CULTU.RE - Product Manager
Tsoma is listed as a developer on their website from a December 2017 archive. According to their website “CULTU.RE is the next generation of governance for an interplanetary society.” They never released a product and stopped tweeting in 2018.
Trive - Blockchain Developer
Thrive was an ICO scam that held a token sale in late 2017. By late 2018 they went silent. You can check their dedicated thread on BitcoinTalk and their Twitter. The CEO, David Mondrus, doesn’t even list Thrive on their LinkedIn.
Nonpariel Capital - Head Quant
“Nonpariel Capital” only returns 33 results on Google. Apparently it was a hedge fund advertising 2500% gains on a 600 day horizon…
Tsoma boasted implementing some very advanced trading strategies. This will be relevant in a later article.
& More !!!
Comical Legal Threats
When it became public knowledge that Maren Altman was taking money from Celsius—the now bankrupt cryptocurrency lending company—Tsoma sent a very angry and threatening message to ZachXBT—an anonymous online investigator known for uncovering fraudulent activities within the cryptocurrency space.
This became a bit of a copypasta for a while. Search “i talk to CZ not anon neck beards” in the Twitter search. Note this isn’t the first time Maren and her cronies have attempted to silence critics with legal threats:
Pressuring to Release a Fraudulent Product
When a former Astrace employee declined to release “moon trading vaults” due to Maren's algorithm yielding poor backtesting results, Tsoma—presumably in collusion with Maren—attempted to coerce them into releasing them anyway. The full story and evidence will be covered in forthcoming articles. Subscribe to be notified about their release.
EDIT [14/11/2023]: Turns out Tsoma has had previous run-ins with the law: https://miamidadefl.mugshots.zone/natsagdorj-tsolmondorj-mugshot-10-29-2022/
